  • What is your most memorable Lyric performance?

“Peter Grimes” by Benjamin Britten.  Playing the “Sea Interludes” within the context of the entire opera is hauntingly beautiful.

  • What works in future seasons are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to “Bel Canto” just as I was looking forward to “The Passenger” this season.  It’s exciting to learn a new score.

  • Outside the pit:

I like to go to the gym. I belong to a park district gym that caters to a wide range of people.  When I see someone who is fit, or someone who is elderly and still moving, or someone who is working with a physical handicap, I’m inspired to keep going, work harder.  And after an hour, I’m done….which never happens with practicing!

  • Favorite travel destination:

The Great Lakes.  Each one has its own character and beauty.
